Shri M.S. Narasimha Murthy has gained vast popularity over the past
three decades through his humorous writings in periodicals and
collections. 50 works of his have been published so far. Two of his
books namely ‘‘Swayam vadhu’’ in 1974 and ‘‘Vargavargi’’ in 1992
bagged the ‘‘State Sahitya Academy Award’’. Samagrahasya’’ authored
by him, a huge collection of his humorous writings, running to more than
1000 pages, was published in 1978 and has been a milestone publication
in the field of Kannada Humor.

One frequently has the privilege of listening to his talks and comic
plays broadcast over ALL INDIA RADIO. He has been conferred with
‘‘Indira Priyadarshini Award’’ for best dialogues in Doordarshan Serials
for the year 1996. During 1997, he was conferred with the prestigious
‘‘Navarathnaram Award’’ for his contribution to the Karnataka literature,
‘‘Beechi Award’’ for humorous lectures and ‘‘Araya Bhata Award’’ for the
serial Paa. Pa. Pandu, and Life time achivement Tele Award. (2009)

He has written Screen play & dialogues for more than 4000 episodes.

Bangalore Doordarshan and all the others Kannada T.V. channels have
telecast several of his serials ‘‘Crazy Colonel’’ is rated to be one of the
best, judging by the viewership it attracted. Paa. Pa. Pandu, the First
Mega Comedy serial in Kannada has won the hearts of all ages it has
completed 1014 single episodes which is first of its kind in India. The
other serial Silly Lalli has completed 1162 episodes and stands first in
the Kannada serial field. (ETV Kannada) At present two more serials
namely ‘‘Parvathi Parameswara’’ & ‘‘Panduranga Vittala’’ are on air.

Setting foot into filmdom, Shri M.S. Narasimha Murthy has contributed
by way of script for the films - ‘‘Athi Madhura Anuraga’’, ‘‘Giddu Dada’’ ,
‘‘Yamalokadalli Veerappan’’ , ‘‘Kattegalu sar Kattegalu’’, Etc... He is the
member of central Board of Film certification.

Shri M.S. Narasimha murthy hails from Malur of Kolar District. He is M.A.,
in Kannada. He has P.G. Diploma in Journalism by securing first rank.
After serving State Bank of Mysore in various capacities, he opted for
voluntary retirement from Malur branch where he was working as a
Manager till 31.3.2001. Presently he is devoting all his time for Kannada
Literature.

He was invited to England to participate in ‘‘Millennium Kannada meet’’
in the year 2000 where he delivered humorous talks at several places
including one at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, London.

He has delivered humoursit talks at Muscot, Dubai, Abudhabhi, Sharjah,
Katar, Singapore Etc.,

And he is honoured with presidentship of AKHILA KARNATAKA BELADINGALA SAHITHYA SAMMELANA AT MOODBIDIRE, KARNATAKA.
